Why We Are Here
The STEAM Factory, a non-profit 501(c)3, functions as an entrepreneurial incubator, a workforce training center, an educational resource, and a working space for those with a Maker Spirit. We hope to serve and benefit the community by allowing members to gather and pursue their passions while catering to the development of their future through the sharing of knowledge, hand-on skills and resources.

Driven by a foundational goal of developing the interests and entrepreneurial aspirations of our members, The STEAM Factory bridges the divide between visions and ideas, traditional education and real-world business. Partnering directly with the local community, we develop solutions, educational training and certification opportunities that directly align and evolve with business and individual needs.

Members Fabrication Shop
Access a wide variety of tools for woodworking, 3D printing, laser engraving, metal forming / welding, and CNC Plasma / Mill / Lathe fabrication.
Prototyping & Small Run Production
When you have an idea, it can be tough to find (or fund) getting it turned into reality. We can help you to make it yourself, we can make it for you and if you seek to sell your successful idea, we can assist with early production. We can also connect you with local manufacturers who are eager to help you take it to the next level.

Our staff & members have a diverse background in many aspects of manufacturing, machining & fabrication, woodworking, information technology, computer applications, and education/training.
We are available to assist you with gaining the skills or connections you need to bring your ideas to life and/or to connect you with local support resources to help transform those ideas into your own startup business.

How we came up with the idea
After looking around the country at the types of "creation spaces" that exist and visiting a few Maker organizations in our area we decided it was high time our little corner of the world had such a place. Ingenuity, creativity and a sense of community are in ample supply here in the North Country.
We have a vision that The STEAM Factory will become a hub of innovation, skills sharing and collaboration for those with a similar mindset.
